Hibs striker Derek Riordan has today been linked with a move to English Premiership new boys Blackpool.

The Bloomfield Road side are said to be pondering a £1.5m offer for the popular Scotland international.

Manager Ian Holloway is keen to bolster his squad, as they head in to the Premiership for the first time in over 30 years.

Riordan has one year left on his deal at Easter Road, and is currently in dispute with the club over a fine he received for criticising the state of the club’s pitch.

Hibs would be looking to extend his deal, but Riordan could now have other thoughts, and a crack at the Premiership could be appealing.

The 27-year-old scored 17 times last season, this despite being played out of position at left midfield for most of the season.

Let’s hope Hibs can secure Deeks signature on a new deal, and beat off the vultures.
