Bolonga linked with Hibs midfielder Josh Campbell

Hibs midfielder Josh Campbell has tonight been linked with a move to Italian side Bolonga.

According to a report coming from Il Resto Del Carlino in Italy, The Serie A side have been keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, who's having an impressive season for the Hibees.

Campbell has scored 9 goals and created another 5, and this has tweeked interest from a club not shy in shopping on the SPFL.

They have already in the past signed Aaron Hickey from Hearts, then sold him to Brentford for a big profit, and midfielder Lewis Ferguson from Aberdeen, who's having a fine season.

Bolonga also tried to sign Hibs defender Josh Doig, before being pipped at the post by fellow Serie A side Hellas Verona, who signed the full-back for a reported £3.25m.

Ex Hibs defender Ryan Porteous (Udinese), now at Watford, and current Hibs midfielder Jake Doyle-Hayes (Spezia) have also been linked with moves to Italy.

Campbell has recently signed a new contract keeping him tied to Easter Road until 2027, and it would take a big offer for the club to consider selling one of it's biggest assets.

English minnows Wigan Athletic, managed by former flop Hibs manager Shaun Maloney are also said to still be interested in the player, after having bids rejected for the player in January.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

With Josh tied down to a long term deal, Hibs can expect a good sized fee should they decide to cash in.

Hibs boss Lee Johnson is a big fan of Campbell and may want to build a team round him, but a big fee could also help a much needed and expected summer re-build at the club.
