Dean Shiels linked with return to Hibs

Former Hibs attacking midfielder Dean Shiels is being linked with a return to Hibs - if he can agree a pay-off from Rangers.

The Ibrox club are reported to making huge losses again, and are said to be on the brink on another adminstration, unless they can cut £1m off their wage bill.

Shiels is said to be on excess of £7,000-a-week in Glasgow, and along with othr high earners Lee Wallace and David Templeton, is being tipped to leave during the January transfer window.

However, the 28-year-old is said to be looking for Rangers to pay-up the remainder of his contract, about £200,000, if they want him to leave.

According to today's tabloids Hibs boss Terry Butcher has targeted Shiels after his failure to land Sheffield United winger Jamie Murphy.

Shiels previously played for the Hibees between 2004 and 2009, making over 140 appeaances and scoring over 30 goals, and is said to be keen on a return to Easter Road.
