Fabian Yantorno out to prove he's worth a Hibs contract

Last updated : 19 June 2008 By Steve Forbes

Former Gretna forward Fabian Yantorno today revealed that he is desperate to repay Hibs kindness and win a deal at Easter Road.

Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen has allowed the little Uruguayan to recuperate at the Hibees new £5m East Mains training facility, after he picked up a horror knee injury at the turn of the year.

Yantorno, 25, tore the cruciate ligament in his knee after a challenge from
Falkirk keeper Tim Krul while playing for defunct Gretna in January.

Paatelainen rates the little magician but wants the player to prove his fitness before he is handed a deal at Easter Road.

"I would love to play for Hibs but have to get as fit as soon as possible and impress in pre-season to get a contract.

"Hibs are an important club and I've had a lot of support from them. All the players, staff and Mixu have been important to me."

Looks a good little player, let's hope he can get over his injury and impress big Mixu.
