FOUR Hibs youngsters in Scotland U-20 squad for World Cup!!

Last updated : 08 June 2007 By Steve Forbes

FOUR Hibs youngsters have been included in the Scotland squad for the U-20 World Cup in Canada.

Goalkeeper Andy McNeil, strikers Steven Fletcher and Ross Campbell as well as midfielder Sean Lynch are all heading across the pond in July.

Three Hibs youngsters have surprisingly been omitted from the 21 man squad, Lewis Stevenson, Kevin McCann and Ross Chisholm all miss out on the trip.

Could this be down to John Collins?? I would have thought those three would have been shoe-ins, especially Stevenson and McCann with the seasons they have just had.

Young Ross Chisholm also impressed towards the end of the SPL campaign and will be disappointed to miss out.

Maybe Collins sees these three as first team regulars next season and wants them rested. Who knows??

What we do know is that, Collins didn't like the idea of so may of his squad being away and feared burn out for the young Hibs stars.

Scotland start there tournament on Friday 1st July 2007 against Japan. They then face Nigeria two days later. The young Scots wrap up there group games with a game against Costa Rica on the 7th July 2007.
