Freed Hibs midfielder Fraser Fyvie set to sign for Dundee Utd

The Scottish Sun is tonight reporting that freed Hibs midfielder Fraser Fyvie is set to sign for Dundee Utd.

Fyvie, 24, is a free agent after leaving Easter Road, following a contract wrangle with boss Neil Lennon.

Hibs apparently put a 3-year-deal on the table for the former Wigan player, but he took that long to mull it over, with some quarters reporting he initially turned it down, that when he decided to sign the contract on offer, the club informed him the offer was off the table.

How much of the above is true, is still unclear.

Dundee Utd manager Ray McKinnon has moved quickly and is now close to landing the now Hibs legend, and teaming him up with another Hibs legend - James Keatings.

Fyvie ensured himself legendary status in Leith as he was part of the 2016 Scottish Cup winning side. He was also part of last season's Championship title winning squad.

If this happens, United are getting themselves a very good player.
