Word has reached Hibernain-mad that our big 6 foot 5 inch Belgian goalkeeper Yves Makaba-Makalamby has said his farewells to the staff down at our state of the art training centre in Tranent East Lothian.
It is unknown where he is off to at this time but the news ties in with a rumour that is doing the rounds on line and in the pubs at the moment, and can I emphasise it is just a rumour, that Manager Mixu Paatelainen has been in contact with his fellow Finnish national team player and former hearts goalkeeper Antti Niemi, currently at English Premier survivors Fulham.
This rumour also ties in with Fulham securing the signature of Middlesboro goalkeeper Schwarzer, giving the West London club 5 keepers in their first squad.
Surely they will trim that down before the new season kicks off but can Hibs afford the kind of wages Niemi would demand and would he be welcomed into the Hibees family as an ex Jambo?
If, as mentioned at the top, big Macca is away we at Hibernian-mad would like to say a big thankyou big man and all the best to you.
