Hibs - International round up

Last updated : 23 August 2007 By Steve Forbes

A number of Hibs players were on international duty this week and had varying degrees of success.

FIVE Hibs players were called up to the Scotland U-21 squad for the clash with the
Czech Republic, Andy McNeil, Lewis Stevenson, Ross McCann, Steven Fletcher and Ross Campbell  Stevenson and Fletcher both started the game and Campbell came on as a sub in the second half. Ross McCann didn't play due to injury and McNeil was an unused sub as the young Scottish side won 1-0.

Winger Alan O'Brien was called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the trip to face Denmark, a match which Ireland won 4-0 and dominated. Unfortunately O'Brien was an unused sub as the Irish triumphed in Aarhus.

Benji put in a man of the match performance as the Moroccan Olympic side beat Guinea 2-1 last night.

Guinea took the lead, but Benji equalised for the Moroccan's, before he set up the winner with a neat head flick on, his strike partner beat the goalkeeper at the near post, from an impossible angle.
