Hibs announce linkup with USL side Charleston Battery

Hibs have today announced that they have entered into a partnership with USL Championship side Charleston Battery.

Tht 'strategic partnership' deal will see the two clubs share ideas on player development, scouting efforts, operational efficiency and community engagement.

The deal has already bared fruit with Hibs taking Defender Leland Archer and midfielder Robbie Crawford (ex Rangers) over to Edinburgh for a training stint.

Hibs Chairman Ron Gordon, speaking to the official club website said:

“We are delighted and excited by this partnership. It brings together two clubs with shared values on and off the pitch, in a way that will help us both to achieve our aspirations. Looking at ways we can work together, be smarter, expand our networks and learn from each other is only going to be a good thing.”

Battery’s co-owner, Brandon Lieb, said: “It’s an exciting day for the Charleston Battery. To be able to partner with such an historic club like Hibernian FC is truly special.

“We have been looking at opportunities across Europe, including the Scottish Premiership, and believe that Hibernian FC is an ideal partner. Our two clubs share many of the same values and beliefs. This is an opportunity for us to collaborate and evolve our clubs through an innovative, transatlantic partnership.”

Hibs are still believed to bein talkswith three or four other clubs about doing te sam kind of deal with them.

An excellent move, linking up with another club, with different ideas can only be a good thing.

The Hibees could pick up some exciting young talent, or see some of theirs head over the pond on loan.
