Hibs appoint Alistair Stevenson as First Team Coach

Hibs have today announced that Alistair Stevenson has been promoted to First Team Coach.

Stevenson will replace Derek Adams as Colin Calderwood's right hand man, after the former Ross County boss returned to the Staggies after a six month stay in Edinburgh.

Stevenson joined the Hibees in 2003 as Head Youth Academy Coach, and helped guid the Hibees U19 side to a SPL U19 League, U19 Scottish Cup and East of Scotland Shield treble two years ago.

He also spent time in charge of first team affairs with Gareth Evans after John Hughes was sacked last season - their only game in charge culminating in a 1-0 SPL win over Kilmarnock for the struggling Hibees.

Many credit Stevenson for the rise of the Hibees "golden generation" of youngsters that emerged a few years ago, with the likes of Scott Brown, Garry O'Connor, Derek Riordan, Kevin Thomson and Steven Fletcher emerging from the club's famous youth academy, before they earned themselves big money moves away from the club.
