Hibs bid £70,000 for Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder John Rankin

According to a local Edinburgh radio station, the Hibees have joined Falkirk and St Mirren in the race to sign Inverness Caledonian Thistle midfielder John Rankin.

In the stations sports bulletin, it was claimed that Hibs had matched the £70,000 bids tabled from
Falkirk and St Mirren for the former Manchester United youngster.

Rankin, 24, joined
Inverness from highland rivals Ross County in a £60,000 deal in 2003 after making over 100 appearances for their bitter rivals.

Rankin is one of a number of players that has been linked to Easter Road in the last few days, a return for former captain Ian Murray, Kilmarnock striker Colin Nish and West Brom keeper Luke Steele have all been linked to Easter Road since big Mixu took over on Thursday.

There are even rumours doing the rounds that Derek Riordan could be on his way back to Easter Road from Celtic.
