Hibs boss John Collins has today insisted that
Northern Ireland international Dean Shiels still has a future at Easter Road.

The 22-year-old attacker has apparently attracted the interest of
Aberdeen and Inverness Caledonian Thistle with a possible move in the January transfer window in the pipeline.

Shiels is a massive favourite with Hibs support but has struggled to hold down a first team place this season, appearing only seven times, five of them from the bench.

Deano arrived at Easter Road in the summer of 2004 from Arsenal and still has one and half years left on his contract but the Hibs support will be hoping Hibs offer him a longer deal.

Collins said:

"Dean will be involved at the weekend and we don't want to sell anyone at this moment in time," said the Hibs boss.

"It's really the right time to invest in the squad rather than sell. Dean still has a future and will be involved this weekend."

If Shiels DOES play, let's hope he proves just how much of an asset he is to the club and gives the manager a reason to keep playing him.

DEEEEEEEEAAAAAAANNNNNNNOOOOOOO!
