Hibs boss excited about prospect of Agogo signing

Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has today moved to assure the club's supporters that the wait for the signing of former Forest striker Junior Agogo will be worth it.

31-year-old Agogo has been training with the club for the last few weeks, and has apparently impressed during his trial period at the clubs training facility at East Mains.

The move has so far been held back by red tape and a minor thigh injury, but Calderwood is confident that the move will go through.

Another stumbling block has been that his former club, Cypriot side Apollon Limassol, have so far failed to send the Hibees the proper international transfer certificate, for the 27 times capped Ghana international, but Calderwood is still keen to see Agogo sign for the club, he said:

"We want to sign him. We are still waiting for the necessary paperwork while the intention is to have Junior fit, or very close to being fit, when he signs.

"He's in good physical condition but has tweaked a small muscle in his thigh but he is doing his rehab. His CV is really good, I will wait for him. He will be good."
