Hibs boss John Collins today moved to BAN the morning tabloid, The Daily Record, from Easter Road for trying to mislead supporters.

The story in question is from Monday morning, when the paper printed a story which wrongly claimed that Collins said he thought the Hibees should have been 4-0 at half time, during last Sunday's 1-1 draw with Hearts in the
Edinburgh derby.

Apparently a 'journalist' from the newspaper turned up at Easter Road this morning and was politely told that his services were not required.

It's not the first time a national newspaper has misquoted the Hibees gaffer and it seems Collins has now decided enough is enough.

Speaking to
Edinburgh radio station, Talk 107, the Hibees boss said:

"When you get headlines like that, even if it was a genuine mistake, you would like to think they'd put it right, however it's rare when that happens.

"I've just got to get on with it. It's not nice when you're misquoted and in this particular instance, with the wrong quotes attributed, I came across as arrogant and disrespectful towards the opposition but it's something I'll just have to live with."
