Hibs boss John Collins has today scooped the SPL Manager of the Month for September.

The Hibees gaffer won the award after Hibs extended their unbeaten start to the season by picking up TEN points from a possible TWELVE over the last month.

The Easter Road side are now nine SPL games unbeaten and sit second in the table, one point behind champions Celtic.

Hibs results for September:

Hibs 1-0 Inverness Caledonian Thistle
Falkirk 1-1 Hibs
Hibs 3
-2 Celtic
Hibs 4-1 Kilmarnock

Although delighted, Collins has stated his award is not just down to his efforts, but the club as a whole, after their fabulous start to the season.

Speaking to the assembled press, the Hibees boss said:

"It's always nice to pick up awards but this is for everyone at the club for all the hard work they have put in.

"Tommy Craig puts in a lot of work and certainly deserves this every bit as much as I do. It's recognition for the whole coaching staff, the medical team and, of course, the players.

"The players deserve credit for the way that they have remained focussed and carried out everything that's been asked of them this season.

"They have all worked really hard and taken on board everything that has been said to them by us.

"It's been a good month for us but we are always looking to improve and we will continue to try and do that. You are always striving to do that little bit better and to improve even further."

A thoroughly deserved award for John Collins after the Hibees super charged start to the season and with a 1-0 win at Ibrox already under his belt this month, who's to bet against him scooping the award for October!!!

Well done John.
