Hibs close in on TWO new signings

Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has today admitted that the club is in discussions with two unknown players.

The Hibees have so far signed Ivan Sproule, Garry O'Connor, Sean O'Hanlon and Junior Agogo this summer, but Calderwood has already stated he would like to add to that.

Hibs chief Scott Lindsay also revealed this week, that the club is keen to make two more permanent signings, and are hopeful of a couple of loan deals on top of that, if they can get a couple of their own youngsters out on loan to free up space.

Speaking to the official club website Calderwood said:

"We've spoken to a couple of players this week, we're pushing forward on that, although nothing will happen before the weekend.

"But we are hopeful that we can move forward and try to do something; certainly within the next fortnight.

"Ideally it would be next week, but everything would need to go right for that to happen. It has been a good couple of days that we've had, and we just want to add a bit of strength and depth to everyone.

"We won't stop until the transfer deadline finishes at the end of the month - it will be a busy period.

"The couple of players I'm talking about will get done early on, or they won't happen at all.

"The interesting thing is the catalogue of players is becoming bigger and contains a higher standard of player than it was four or five weeks ago."
