Hibs close to Kamberi signing

Hibs boss Neil Lennon has confirmed that striker Florian Kamberi is clsoe to signing for the club.

The 22-year-old Grasshoppers striker has been training at the club's East Mains training facility over the last week, and it seems he has impressed enough for Lennon to mkae his move.

The Hibees are expected to tie up a loan deal until the end of the season, with an option to buy in the summer.

Lennon, speaking to the media said:

"We are close to getting Florian in. We are just waiting on international clearance so hopefully he will be in the squad on Wednesday.

"He's been training with us for over a week now and I think we're pretty close to getting it done."

"It's good to get another in the building, and he brings a physical presence.

"He's young, he hasn't had a lot of experience. He has played in Germany and a bit in Switzerland, but we liked what we saw and he will bring a different dimension to how we play going forward.

"He was good enough to come in and train, which is always a good sign and it gives you a look at him close up as well, rather than just looking at footage or bits and pieces.

"We can actually see him interact, his condition levels and his technique. We had a good look this week and liked what we saw.

"It is with a view to maybe extending it after the initial loan spell.

"It's down to Florian and how he progresses over next five to six months."
