According to the Scottish Sun, Hibs are close to signing Yeovil Town defender Tom James.

James will be available on a free as his contract runs out on July 1st and it seems Hibs have beaten off some stiff competiton for his signature.

The Welsh right-back was said to signing for West Brom in January in a £450,000 deal but the transfer never materialised.

Celtic, Swansea and Bournemouth have all been credited with an interest in the player in the past, so it seems the Hibees could be about to pull off a bit of a coup.

The arrival of James would give the legendary David Gray some much needed competition at right back, something that has been lacking over the last 12 months, as Gray picked up numerous injuries as the likes of Jonathan Proctor and Efe Ambrose filled in.

James started his career with Cardiff City before transferring to Yeovil Town in 2017. He scored 7 goals and added 3 assists in 42 appearances last season.
