Hibs are closing in on the signing of Greek international Charalampos Mavrias.

The 24-year-old is a free agent after leaving Croatian side Rijeka in the summer.

He spent time on trial at East Mains a few weeks ago and according to the Edinburgh Evening News impressed Hibs boss Neil Lennon enough to be offered a deal.

Mavrias is signed to the same agency as Florian Kamberi and Jamie Maclaren, Deadline Day Footy Consultants, who earlier in the day hinted that a Greek player was heading to Easter Road.

He can play anywhere on the right side and will bolster an already impressive Hibs squad and is expected to sign a deal until the end of the season.

Mavrias has played for the likes of Panathinaikos and Sunderland and also had spells in Germany.

He has played in the Champions League and Europa League and has been capped at U17, U19, and U21 level, as well as 5 caps at full international level.

Another impressive signing for the Hibees.
