Hibs closing on signing of Uruguayan defender Joaquin Sosa

According to numerous reports from his homeland, Uruguayan defender Joaquin Sosa is on the verge of a move to Hibs.

The 20-year-old is currently on loan with Liverpool Montevideo from his parent club Nacional, but the report claims he will play hislast game with the club on Wednesday, before travelling to Edinburgh to sign for the Hibees.

Apparently the Hibees have agreed a deal with Nacional and he is expected to sign in the coming days.

Sosa made his debut for Nacional coming off the bench in the play-off for the Championship, setting up the winning goal and helping to secure the 2020 Primera Division title for the club.

He then joined Rentistas on loan for a season, playing 30 games for the club, before his current loan.

6ft 3in Sosa has been capped at U15 and U17 level for his country.

He is a left sided centre half, but can also play at left back or in midfield.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

This one has come from nowhere.

We must admit, we no nothing about the player, but he looks good on paper

Hibs are in desperate need of another central defender, but we did think it would be somebody more experienced.

It looks like the Hibees will be going with a pretty young squad next year.
