Hibs defender Ian Murray out for a further 3 weeks

Hibs boss John Hughes has been dealt another blow ahead of this weeks important trip to face St Johnstone in Perth, with the news that Ian Murray is out for another THREE weeks.

The 29-year-old hasn’t featured for the Hibees since appearing as a sub against St Mirren for the final 19 minutes of that match – his only SPL action this season.

Murray played in both legs of Hibs disappointing 6-2 aggregate defeat to Slovenian side NK Maribor in the Uefa Europa League.

He was then suspended for the first two SPL matches of the season, before picking up a hip problem, this has resurfaced, with Murray receiving an injection and he is now looking at more time on the sidelines.

Hughes said:

"Ian had been carrying the problem since the start of the season. We tried to nurse him through, we changed his training regime a bit but it came back and he went to see a specialist.

"He's had an injection and we hope that in the next two or three weeks he will be back. I had a chat at length with him the other day and he's really positive, champing at the bit to get going."
