It's being reported tonight that Hibs wing-back Josh Doig is set to complete a big-money move to Hellas Verona.

The Serie A side have had a £3.25m bid accepted for the Scotland U21 player, with the Hibees also inserting clauses and a healthy sell-on fee in the deal.

According to the EEN, Doig, 20, was at East Mains this morning, saying his goodbyes to players and staff, and will now travel to Italy to complete the deal.

The transfer is expected to be completed next week, and Doig won't be involved in tommorow's opening game of the season against Clyde in the Premier Sports Cup.

Doig has played 78 times for the club since making the breaakthrough, and has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Man City and AC Milan in the past.

Hibs also rejected a £2.8m offer from Watford last summer.

Hibs-Mad View:

What a move for the kid - should it go through.

He will move to one of the best leagues in the wold, and will most likely get a big wage rise when he moves.

He has been excellent for the club and deserves a life changing move to Serie A.

Hopefully the move helps him develop even more and make the national side.

It's also BIG money for Hibs, especially off the back of announcing a bank balance of £7m in the last accounts, which was then followed up with the £3m sale of Martin Boyle in January.

Let's hope Lee Johnson is given money to re-invest in the squad.
