Hibs have today announced that defender Lewis Stevenson has signed a new deal with the club.

The 30-year-old signed an extension that keeps him tied to Easter Road until 2021.

Stevenson has played an incredible 424 games for the Hibees since coming through the youth academy and making his debut in a League Cup tie against Ayr United in 2005.

The Scotland international is the only player in the club's history to have won both the Scottish Cup (2016) and Scottish League Cup (2007) whilst with the club.

Speaking to the official club website he said:

“I’m delighted to extend my deal for another couple of years. It’s a great honour to be involved with this club.

“Every footballer will say that you keep learning things week in, week out. Every game there are some things where you think that you should have done it differently.

“Hopefully that will stand me in good stead. I’m always open-minded and interested in new ideas and new things involving football.

“I know I have been here a while, but hopefully I’ve got a bit more to give.”
