Hibs favourites to land Wimbledon midfielder Luke McCormick

According to London News Online, Hibs are leading the chase to sign Wimbledon midfielder Luke McCormick.

The former Chelsea youth attacking midfielder wants to move away from the London club and has fallen out-of-favour under Johnnie Jackson so far this season.

According to the report Hibs are in the strongest position to land McCormick, despite interest from English League One club Bristol Rovers over the summer.

McCormick is apparently one of Plough Lane club's highest earners and Chesea will be due a percentage of any fee the Hibees might pay.

The 23-year-old has an impressive season last term, scoring 9 goals and adding 8 assists.

He also had an impressive spell on loan with Bristol Rovers from Chelsea the season before, scoring 6 goals and 2 assists.

McCormick also had a loan spell with Shrewsbury Town earlier in his career.

He has two years left on his deal, and is NOT expected to be involved today as the Dons take on Doncaster Rovers.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

We don't know much about the lad, but he looks like a decent player.

He has a good goalscoring and assist record, and the Hibees have been crying out for something different in the middle of the park.

However we are not sure if this deal is do-able, it's expected to be revealed that the club broke our transfer record to bring Martin Boyle back to the club, and manager Lee Johnson admitted he may have blown his budget.

If it's true, could we maybe see a player or two leave first, or will the club push the budget further.

We banked a £3.25m fee for Josh Doig earlier this summer, and the rumour is we banked half of the £3m fee for Boyle before signing him back, so hopefully a few more deals can be done.

There is also the report hat we are cose to paying £200,000 for Slovak stiker Adam Griger.

We can only watch and wait.
