Hibs have tonight had a bid for Scotland U21 international Scott Arfield turned down by Falkirk.

The Hibees tabled an offer of £300,000 for the 20-year-old, in what turns out to be the second offer for the player from the club.

There are a number of clubs interested in Arfield, with both Hamilton Accies and English Championship side Watford already having bids turned down for the midfielder.

Hibs boss John Hughes is a huge fan of the player, following his time as manager of the Bairns, and he has promised to try and add quality to the squad at Easter Road, and this is a clear indication that the board are keen to back him.

It’s thought Hughes will try again to land the dynamic youngster before the transfer window closes at 5PM on Tuesday evening.
