Hibs join the race for Dundee Utd striker Simon Murray

Last updated : 22 May 2017 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have tonight been linked with a move for Dundee Utd attacker Simon Murray.

According to the Scottish Sun, the Hibees are favourites to land the former Arbroath player.

25-year-old Murray is heading out-of-contract and it seems Hibs boss Neil Lennon is hopeful of persuading him to move to Easter Road.

Hibs are said to be leading a chasing pack of Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle and St Johnstone keen on his signature, but none, including United, who hope to get him tied to a new deal, can come close to matching any offer Hibs make.

Lennon tried to sign Murray for Hibs last summer, with two offers for the player being knocked back by the Tannadice club.

Murray has an Easter Road connection already, with his father, Gary, having played for the Hibees between 1980-1984, making over 80 appearances, scoring 16 goals.
