Hibs legend Bobby Johnstone was yesterday inducted into the Scottish Football Hall of Fame at Hampden.

Johnstone became the last of the Hibees world renowned forward line, the Famous Five, to enter the Hall of Fame.

Lawrie Reilly, Eddie Turnbull, Gordon Smith and Willie Ormond having already secured their place.

Johnstone, who passed away in 2001, joined the Hibees in 1947 as a 17-year-old, and played his first game for the club against St Mirren in 1948.

He won two Scottish Championship’s at Easter Road in 1951 & 1952, before moving south to join Manchester City in 1955 for a sum of only £12,000.

During his four year stay in Manchester he won the FA Cup, before returning to the Hibees in 1959.

He stayed at Easter Road for a further two seasons until 1961, when he moved to Oldham Athletic.

Despite being 32 when he moved to Oldham, he stayed for four seasons, playing 143 games, scoring 36 goals, and is still regarded as one of their greatest ever players.

Johnstone scored an incredible 116 goals in 219 games for the Hibees, and went on to play for Scotland.

His goal scoring exploits were just as phenomenal for his country as they were for the Hibees, he scored 10 goals in 17 games.

A superb accolade, for an outstanding footballer, and a true Hibernian Legend.

Congratulations Bobby.
