Hibs loan defender Jason Naismith out for the rest of the season

Hibs defender has had the news back from his scan today and it's not good news.

The on loan Peterborough defender has suffered knee ligament damage and will miss the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old former Ross County defender has been in good form for the Hibees and has started the last 11 games.

Naismith was forced off injured after landing awkwardly during Sunday's Scottish Cup draw with Dundee Utd at Tannadice.

Posh's DOF Barry Fry said:

“It’s bad news for Jason as he’d been doing well up there.

“He was reunited with a former manager who clearly rates him and there was an expectation they would sign him.

“Our primary concern is Jason’s recovery though. He’s a top man who has never given us a moment’s concern.”

Hibs are well covered in the area with David Gray returning from injury and both Tom James and Steven Whittaker able to play at right back as well.

Editor's View:

A blow for Hibs as Naismith has been a stand-out lately and was impressing at right back.

Hibs now have a decision to make, club captain David Gray is back from injury and should slot staright back in.

The other options at right back are the so far dissapointing Tom James and veteran Steven Whittaker

Shoud Gray pick up an injury, can James step-up to the plate or can Whittaker handle playing every game at 35??

Or do the Hibees go in to the market for another defender?
