Hibs loan strikers Benji and Damon Gray set to return to Easter Road!

Last updated : 10 January 2009 By Steve Forbes

Hibs strikers Damon Gray and Abdessalam Benjelloun are both set to return to Easter Road following loan deals away from the club.

Moroccan international Benjelloun has spent the last six months on loan at Belgian side RSC Charleroi, but had a torrid time.

He failed to impress the Belgian side, who had first refusal to sign him should he do well, only scoring 1 goal in 8 games.

Benjelloun, 23, criticised Hibs boss Paatelainen while in Belgium and it now looks difficult for the forward to continue his career at Easter Road.

He has 18 months left on his Hibs contract and he could be heading straight back out the door on loan.

UAE side Al Shaab have confirmed their interest in joining Benjelloun up with his Hibs and Morocco team-mate Merouane Zemmama, who is also on loan at Al Shaab.

Another striker set to return is young English forward Damon Gray.

Gray, 20, has spent the last year on loan at first division club Partick Thistle and had some degree of success, he scored 7 goals in 20 appearances.

The Newcastle born forward has spoken of his fear at lack of first team football at Easter Road when returns, he said:

"All the Hibs strikers are in form so it's going to be hard to play."
