Hibs have been dealt a blow ahead of Sunday's SPL match with Hamilton Accies at Easter Road.
Midfielder Matt Thorhill has been told his season is over, and that he faces surgery on his knee.
It was orignally thought the 22-year-old had only picked up a simple knee knock in Saturday's 1-0 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie, but the injury has been deemed far more serious.
Hibs boss Colin Calderwood said:
"He's been in good form but will be out and won't play again this season – he strained his medial ligament."
