Hibs set for 250k bid for Forest Green striker Christian Doidge

According to the Sunday Mail, Hibs are lining-up a £250,000 swoop for Forest Green Rovers striker Christian Doidge.

The Welsh striker scored 18 goals last season, 14 with Forest Green and 4 with Bolton.

26-year-old Doidge apparently has a fan in Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom, who is looking to bolster a threadbare forward line that only consists of Swiss Florian Kamberi and youngster Oli Shaw, after Marc McNulty's loan period ended and he returned to Reading.

Doidge would be a real coup for the Hibees after another good season with Forest Green.

Hibs were linked with Doidge back in the summer of 2017 when Neil Lennon was in charge but no move materialised.

His form with Forest Green seen him win a move to Bolton Wanderers, which was supposed to be an initial loan, followed by a permanent transfer in January.

However, Bolton ran into financial difficulties and the permanent transfer was cancelled.

Doidge returned to the New Lawn club and continued his cracking form for the League Two side.

He has also played for Dagenham and Redbridge, in a career that has seen him hit over 100 goals in just over 260 appearances.
