Hibs are said to be close to landing Hull City goalkeeper Mark Oxley on loan for the season.

According to media reports the 23-year-old is set to be announced as a new signing today.

Oxley will join on a 12 month loan deal, and add some much needed quality to the goalkeeping department.

The Hibees only have youngster Kleton Perntreou and 40-year-old keeper coach/player Alan Combe on the books, following the summer exits of Ben Williams and Sean Murdoch.

Oxley has been capped by England at U19 & U20 level, as well as being called in to the U21 squad on occassion.

He has never made a first team appearance for Hull, but has been loaned out Grimsby Town, Burton Albion and last season Oldham Athletic.

He established himself as No.1 with Oldham and went on to make over 40 appearances for the club.

With reports that playmaker Scott Allan is also set to sign, it seems we FINALLY have movement on the transfer front at Easter Road.
