Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has tonight secured experienced Bradford City centre half Michael Nelson.

The 33-year-old has signed a 2-year-deal at Easter Road, and goes straight into contention for Sunday's clash with Motherwell.

Nelson joins the Hibees for a nominal fee and becomes Fenlon's NINTH summer signing.

Speaking to the official summer website, Nelson said:

"I'm delighted to sign for Hibs; it's a great move for me and I can't wait to get started back playing in the Scottish Premiership,"

Fenlon was also delighted to land the stopper, he said:

"His experience will also help the younger players around him.

"We believe Michael will bring four qualities to the team - size, physicality, experience and leadership.

"Those attributes will add further strength to our squad for the start of the new season."

Nelson previously played for Norwich City, Hartlepool and Scunthorpe.

He was also part of the Killie side that won the league cup two seasons ago.
