Hibs striker Steven Fletcher has tonight been drafted in to the
Scotland squad for Wednesday night's crucial clash with Iceland.

The Scots travel to face
Iceland at the Laugardalsvöllur Stadium, Reykjavik, with an 18:30 kick off time.

Scotland go in to the game following a disastrous 1-0 loss to Macedonia on Saturday and three points against Iceland is a must.

The shot shy strike force of Kenny Miller and James McFadden, for the second international running, have drawn a blank.

Young Hibs striker Fletcher has been drafted in to give
Scotland manager George Burley more firepower.

In Macedonia Miller was woeful and his striker partner James McFadden, for as good a player he is, proved once again that he is still too greedy on the ball.

Now Fletcher could be handed a chance against an
Iceland side that pulled of a shock 2-2 draw away from against Norway on Saturday.

Kris Boyd, who has a fabulous international record, could also be handed a chance, along with Fletcher, to unlock the Icelandic defence.

Fletcher, 21, who scored twice on Thursday night as the U21's thumped
Slovenia 3-1 at Falkirk, already has one cap at full international level picked up against Croatia at Hampden.

The Hibees hitman has been attracting a lot of interest lately, with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid showing an interest in the £4m rated forward, along with English Premiership sides Newcastle United, Bolton Wanderers, Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa
.
