Hibs forward Steven Fletcher has tonight signed for Premiership side Burnley.

The Lancashire club have splashed out £3m, with add-ons that could see the fee rise to £3.6m, to take the Hibees hitman to Turf Moor.

22-year-old Fletcher becomes the most expensive signing in Burnley's history and is excited to make the move to the English top flight.

Speaking about the move on the official Burnley website Fletcher said:

"I am absolutely delighted to sign for the club.

"It is a great feeling to be here and I am just looking forward to getting the season started now.

"As soon as I heard that Burnley were after me, and knowing Owen Coyle as I do from my time in Scotland, I thought this was the right place to come and develop my career.

"The opportunity came long in January for me to join Celtic, but Hibs did not think it was the right time to move on.

"When the chance arrived to come to the Premier League and play for a club like Burnley, I was glad they accepted that and let me come down.

"I have wanted to come to England for a while now to show people what I can do and I am so looking forward to it.

"I want to give 100 per cent and score goals and hopefully I can do that."

Fletcher has signed a 4-year-deal with the Clarets and will be paraded at a press conference at Turf Moor on Thursday.

Hibernian-Mad would like to take this opportunity to wish Steven the very best for the future at his new club.

His goals in the League Cup winning run will never be forgotten, especially the Semi Final goal, and the cup final double.

Go prove the arrogant doubters of our game wrong and smash the goals in!!!
