Hibs have taken Linfield striker MIchael O'Connor on trial accoring to Edinburgh Live.

The 21-year-old will spend a week on trial at East Mains in an attempt to win a deal at Easter Road.

O'Connor has previously been linked with a move to both Ross County and Dundee, but it looks like the Hibees have stolen a march on their rivals.

Hibs are one of the lowest scorers in the Premiership this season with Florian Kamberi and £350,000 signing Christian Doidge struggling for form.

On top of that, youngster Oli Shaw has hardly feature at all this season.

Underfire boss Paul Heckingbottom could now make a move for the former Waterford, Finn Harps and Shamrock Rovers man.

O'Connor has been capped at U18 and U19 level for the Republic of Ireland in the past.

Editor's View:

Hibs have really struggled for form in front of goal this season, so this guy is well worth a look.

£350,000 capture Christian Doidge is struggling with Premiership life so far and Swiss forward Florian Kamberi, who started the season in good form, hasn't scored in weeks.

Heckingbottom doesn't seem to want to give Oli Shaw a chance either, so he is clearly on the look-out for a new striker.
