Shrewsbury Town have tonight revealed that Hibs will head south for a pre-season friendly in a couple of weeks.

The Hibees will visit Greenhous Meadow on Sunday 31st July 2016, with the game kicking off at 12.30pm.

Town CEO Brian Caldwell, speaking to their official website said:

“We are delighted that Hibs have agreed to the game and it will be good to have the Scottish Cup holders at the Greenhous Meadow.

“We did have some issues getting a game on the Sunday to coincide with the open day but we have got one.

“I think it will be the first time that Hibs have visited the Greenhous Meadow and we look forward to welcoming them on Sunday 31st July.

“It will be a 12:30pm kick-off and for the open day there will be activity before the game and plenty more afterwards.

“Jamie and his team in the community have a full list of events over the day and we will be announcing those shortly.

"Micky's delighted that we have got Hibs as he wanted a good test especially in the final pre season match and he knows that they are a good footballing side

“It will be a good test for the players in the lead up to the important game at home to MK Dons on the first day of the season and hopefully we can encourage as many local people along for the match and Open Day.

“Hibs are a good strong team and a big club in Scotland so it will be a hard one for the team.”

Shrewsbury have former Hibs players Ryan McGivern and Gary Deegan in their side, and recently let former Hibees £200,000 misfit James Collins leave to join Crawley Town.

Ticket prices for the game will be:

Adults - £10
Concessions - £5
U18s - £1
