Hibs winger Dan Mackay set to join Raith Rovers on loan

Last updated : 06 July 2022 By Steve Forbes

Hibs winger Daniel Mackay is set to join Championship side Raith Rovers.

According to the Courier, the 21-year-old is on the verge of another loan spell away from Easter Road.

Mackay spent the second half of last season on loan with Kilmarnock, as they went on to win the Championship title.

Ex Hibs midfielder Ian Murray, now manager at Starks Park, has moved to tie up the youngster in what is expected to be a season long loan deal.

Mackay joined the Hibees in 2021, in a reported £200,000 transfer from Inverness Caley after an impressive season in the Highlands that seen him score 9 goals and made the Championship team of the Year.

He has suffered a few injury problems with the Hibees, and has struggled to get a real run in the team under the last two managers.

New boss Lee Johnson confrmed last week that the plan was to loan him out.

HIBS-MAD VIEW:

It's good that Mackay is going out to get more game time.

He has bags of potential, and has shown glimpses of what he can do whilst at Easter Road.

We did think he would be around the first team this season, but game time is what matters, so this move suits all parties, should it go through.
