Young Hibs midfielder Rueben McAllister has today joined Forfar Athletic on loan.

The 18-year-old spent the first half of the season on-loan with Cove Rangers and played 9 times for the Scottish League One side.

McAllister has now moved to Scottish League Two side Forfar until the end of the season.

He has also had a previous loan spell with Kelty Hearts, where he played 11 times.

McAllister is out-of-contract at the end of the season, and has been linked with moves to Swansea City and Sunderland this transfer window.

He joined the Hibees back in 2022 from Bristol City for a reported £275,000, that could rise to £500,000 if certain add-ons are met.

Rueben made his Hibs debut in the Uefa Conference League against Inter Club d'Escaldes in 2023.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

Good to see Rueben heading out for more game time.

However, his contract is nearly up, and there doesn't seem to be an offer coming.

For a player that cost so much at just 16, and who is attracting nglish interest, it seems strange.
