Inverness Caley boss Terry Butcher has revealed that Kevin McCann has returned to Easter Road - Once again injured.

The 23-year-old has had a terrible time with injury, having picked up a troublesome tendonitis injury in his knee, which kept him out for nearly TWO years in total.

It was hoped his six month loan deal with the Highlands club would boost his fitness and help him on the road back to the first team at Easter Road.

However, the former Scotland U21 player only made 8 appearances for Terry Butchers men, scoring 1 goal (a screamer against Dundee Utd at Tannadice).

Butcher has revealed that McCann has returned Easter Road with another knee injury.

He said:

“We would like to bring one in as Kevin McCann has gone back to Hibs as he needs a longer period of rehabilitation for his knee injury.

“If it was only a matter of a few days we would have taken the gamble to sign him.

“It looks as though it is going to be six to eight weeks and we are looking to bring in someone to replace Kevin.”

Sad news, McCann seems to be struggling with his knee, let’s hope this kid’s once bright future at Easter Road isn’t coming to an end.

McCann has played 30 games for the Hibees, and was, of course, part of the club’s 2007 League Cup Winning squad.
