New Hibs boss John Hughes cancels signings of Hodge and Bengelloun!!!

Last updated : 28 June 2009 By Steve Forbes

New Hibs boss John Hughes has apparently cancelled the imminent arrivals of two pre-contract Mixu Paatelainen signings.

Big Mixu is said to have signed Bryan Hodge from Blackburn Rovers and Youness Bengelloun from Cypriot side Olympiakos Nicosia, and it now seems "Yogi" has pulled the plug on both deals as he builds his own side.

There is also talk of Manchester United winger Danny Galbraith being unveiled at Easter Road in the next few days, but that could also be in jeopardy.

Hodge is a 21-year-old former Scotland U20 international who has spent time on loan at Mansfield Town, Millwall and Darlington.

Youness Bengelloun is a 26-year-old French defender come midfielder, that we here on Hibernian-Mad revealed exclusively that we had signed, way back in mid May (see following link).

According to some national tabloids today, John Hughes has now cancelled both of these deals, secured by Paatelianen.

Both players share the same agent, Michael Ryan, he said:

"Mixu had done all the work to take the players to Hibs but we have since been told both deals are now dead. The new manager has said he is not interested in either player."
