Nottingham Forest to make an approach for Hibs boss???

Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has been targeted by new Nottingham Forest manager Steve McClaren - for his backroom staff.

Calderwood has previously been manager of Forest, but was sacked in December 2008, despite guiding them out of League One, Forest suffered a poor campaign back in the Championship that cost the former Scotland international his job.

Forest appointed McClaren last week, and it’s said that he’s keen to add Calderwood to his coaching staff, but the big problem could be a release fee inserted into Calderwood’s contract at Easter Road, which is thought to be near the £1m mark.

According to some areas of the press, and some grainy pictures posted on Facebook, Calderwood has already met the new Forest boss in a Leicester hotel, but Hibs have released a statement insisting that NO contact has been made from Forest.

Calderwood has just released 18 players from their contracts at Easter Road, and has also signed Garry O’Connor, Ivan Sproule and Sean O’Hanlon, so for him to leave now, with pre-season staring today, and the SPL kick off only weeks away, would leave the club in a horrible position going into the new season.
