Partick Thistle enter the race for former Hibs midfielder Ross Chisholm

Last updated : 23 June 2009 By Steve Forbes

Former Hibs midfielder Ross Chisholm has shot to the top of Partick Thistle manager Ian McCall's wanted list.

Chisholm was released when his contract run out last month, despite being promised a new deal by then Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen.

However, Paatelainen left his post at Easter Road a few weeks back, and with him went any chance of a contract for Chisholm.

New Hibs boss John Hughes decided that Chisholm was surplus to requirements, and duly showed him the exit door down Leith.

Partick have now joined Bristol Rovers, Port Vale, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and one other unnamed SPL side, thought to be Hamilton Accies, in the chase for the little midfielder.

Chisholm played close to 50 first team games after breaking through from the Hibees famous youth academy, but failed to hold down a regular spot in the first team.
