Hibs and Scotland striker Steven Fletcher has tipped
team-mate Derek Riordan to win a re-call to the Scotland squad.

Fletcher, 21, earned his second full international cap against Norway during Saturday's disappointing 0-0 draw and has now back Riordan to follow him into the squad.

Riordan arrived back at Easter Road during the summer in a £400,000 deal following two frustrating years with Celtic and has scored 3 goals in 4 games since his return.

The 25-year-old has only one cap to his name so far, gained in a friendly with Austria in 2005 and is now looking to add to that solitary cap.

Fletcher is delighted to have Riordan back in a Hibs shirt and said:

"If Derek keeps playing the way he's started back at Hibs and keeps scoring goals, he'll have ambitions to get back in the Scotland squad," Fletcher said.

"Everyone knows the type of player he is, so if he keeps doing well, there is no reason he can't get back in the Scotland squad. He's certainly still young enough at just 25."
