UCL Draw - Hibs or Santa Poloma v Gzira United or HNK Rijeka

Last updated : 19 July 2021 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have today learned their fate in the 3rd Qualifiying round draw for the Uefa Conference League.

Hibs play Andorran side Santa Coloma in the 2nd qualifying round, first leg this Thursday at Easter Road, and the winner will play the winner of the tie between Maltese outfit Gzira United or Croats HNK Rijeka.

The draw was made in Nyon, Switzerland this afternoon, the ties will be played on Thursday, August 5 and Thursday, August 12.

Elsewhere, Aberdeen, should they come through a difficult looking tie with Swedes BK Hacken, will face either Austria Wein or Icelandic side Breidablik.

In the Champions League Rangers will play Malmo or HJK Helsinki.

Celtic, should they progress past Midtjylland, will face a tough tie against either Galatasaray or PSV Eindhoven.

Whilst in the Europa League St Johnstone will face the LOSERS of the Galatasaray v PSV tie.

Editor's View:

Hibs can't look to far ahead of Santa Poloma, we must not take them lightly.

A good home result, will hopefully put us through.

The next round could see a test handed to the Hibees. Gzira United we don't know much about, but the Hibees would be favourites to go through.

However, Rijeka would be stiff competition, they last played Scottish foes back in 2019, beating Aberdeen 4-0 on aggregate.
