West Ham eye £4m January swoop for Hibs star John McGinn

It's being reported on various news sites this morning that West Ham are ready to launch a January swoop for Hibs dynamo John McGinn.

The story seems to have started with the Scottish Sun, and they have stated that the London side are ready to launch a move once the transfer window opens, that could lead to a £4m move for the Scotland midfielder.

McGinn, 23, was a target for Hammers boss David Moyes whilst he was Sunderland boss, and his move to East London hasn't stopped his interest in the former St Mirren player.

Nottingham Forest failed with multiple bids for McGinn during the summer, with the last being reported in the £1.9m bracket, but manager Mark Warburton is expected to come back in with another bid.

Celtic and Middlesbrough have also been credited with an interest in the past, and should a bidding war start, it would suit both Hibs and former club St Mirren, who have an apparent 33% sell-on clause inserted in any deal, after Hibs signed him from the Buddies.

McGinn still has around 18 months left on his deal at Easter Road.
