Former Hibs Youngster Mark Dempsie Forced To Retire At 26!

Last updated : 01 December 2006 By Steve Forbes

Former Hibs youngster Mark Dempsie has been forced to quit football at the young age of 26.

Mark made the breakthrough into the Hibs team at a young age, and looked a really good prospect but was plagued by back injuries at the Hi-Bees.

He then moved onto St Mirren in 2003 where again he was hindered by the same back problems that he had at Hibs.

He eventually ended up at Dumbarton, but he has been told my medics that his football career is over.

Dumbarton vice-chairman Colin Hose, speaking to the official Dumbarton website, said:

"This is a huge blow to the player and the club,"

"But we all recognise that Mark's long-term health is the main priority. Discussions are ongoing to see if there is a role for Demo within the club."

Sad News.

Good luck in the future Mark, from everyone at www.Hibernian-mad.co.uk.
