Hibs Chairman Rod Petrie dismisses John Collins sacking rumours!

Last updated : 12 April 2007 By Steve Forbes

Hibs today moved to dismiss the rumours engulfing Easter Road, after yet another story about bust up's involving Hibs manager John Collins and his players appeared in a Glasgow based tabloid.

According to said "newspaper" following the alleged meeting between the chairman and the first team squad, it was claimed that most of the squad had demanded the Easter Road gaffer was sacked from his post immediately.

The player revolt apparently because of Collins strict training and dietary regimes that he has implemented since replacing Tony Mowbray as Hibs boss.

Hibs chairman Rod Petrie today moved to back his manager against the so called rebels and told a packed press conference:

"If anyone was away over the Easter holidays and missed anything, John Collins is the manager of Hibernian Football Club. We have a Tennent's Scottish Cup semi-final to look forward to on Sunday, a weekend on which only three SPL teams are playing."

The most worrying thing is, there is STILL no conformation from Hibs that this meeting took place.

If it did, what players were involved????

Time for these "rebels" to show face and to stop hiding behind there agents and "friends" in the
Glasgow media, if they have something to say, show face to the people that pay the mortgage - THE SUPPORTERS.
