Hibs Midfielder Scott Brown Called Up To Scotland Squad!!!!

Last updated : 14 March 2007 By Steve Forbes

Hibs midfield dynamo Scott Brown has been called up to the Scotland squad for the up coming European Championship qualifiers against Georgia & Italy.

The 21-year-old has been knocking on the door of the
Scotland squad for some time now and has finally been given the nod by new Scotland manager Alex McLeish.

Brown was recently the target of a number of clubs including Rangers, Celtic,
West Brom, Charlton Athletic & Tottenham Hotspur. Hibs knocked back TWO £4.1m bids for Brown from both Rangers & Celtic on transfer deadline day in January.

Brown already has ONE cap for Scotland, that he picked up in a friendly against the U.S.A at Hampden.

The disappointing news though, is there is no place for Hibs exciting full back Steven Whittaker, who has arguably been Hibs best player this season and is most probably the best right back in the country, but he has been over looked in favour of diddies like Graham Alexander & Graeme Murty!!

No wonder
Scotland struggle.
