Hibs Sign York City Striker Clayton Donaldson On A Pre-Contract!

Hibs boss John Collins today confirmed that York City striker Clayton Donaldson had signed a pre-contract agreement with the Hi-Bees and will arrive in the summer.

Hibs have been after Donaldson for some time, as revealed by Hibernian-mad.co.uk way back in November. (see link) http://www.hibernian-mad.co.uk/news/loadroll.asp?cid=ED11&id=307413

York have recently turned down two offers for the player and had placed a £500,000 price tag on his head, but the Hi-Bees have nipped in and grabbed the striker before anyone else could pounce.

6ft 1in Donaldson, 23, who has scored 19 goals already this season, has signed a three-year-deal at the Hi-Bees.

Hibs boss John Collins was obviously delighted with his capture and said:

"Clayton has pace, lots of pace. He has scored goals in the past couple of seasons, albeit at a lower level. He is two-footed, but there is plenty of room for improvement as he is still just a young lad."

Sounds like this lad knows where the goals are and could be a shrewd piece of business by Hibs.
